As The Night Falls

As the sun begins to set and night begins to fall,
A lifetime of memories I do recall . . .

The way we used to cruize in your ride all day
The way we used to laugh and drink the night away

The way you held me close and whispered in my ear
I'm here for you always -- you have no need to fear

We shared our deepest thoughts and fantasies, too
So many things you taught and I learned from you

But now my heart is crying and the tears they fill my eyes
The Lord has taken you from me and I to wish I could die

Life it must go on and so must we all
but as the sun sets and the night comes in
the memories of you I will recall.
