A Coldhearted Goodbye

I think of all the troubles
I've put my loved one through
Yet I feel no regret in doing
All those things to you
I know I put you in hard times
Yes, it must have torn your heart
Like a knife grinding in meat
Ripping every muscle apart
It must have made you cry
Shedding tears from deep within
I'm sure you remember those nights
When your tears swelled your skin
I bet you even waited
Even though you knew
I wasn't coming home that night
To tell you that I love you
As much as I should say
I'm sorry, yet I can't
I feel absolutely no regret
For the pain that I grant
I know I tell you everyday
That I love you
But you should know by now
That, honey, that's not true
I look back at all the memories
And I'm sure I caused you pain
But it's funny how you keep getting
Stuck alone in the rain
Like I said I could care less
I'm sorry it has to come out this way
But I'm getting tired of you
Crying out for me everyday
