On a Night Like This

The stars paint the sky
And the dark blue swirls up high
Stretching across the land
So large from where I stand

I can see the contours of the trees
Swaying and dancing before me
The ground seems to disappear
And the night sky seems to be so near

I loose my head as I sit here in the water
And wish that you could be here to enter
This beautiful night that I alone see
And experience the beauty with me

I wish you could see
The moon shine down on me
Changing all colors to shades of blue
Making me wish I had spent it with you
