Raspberry Rain
When I was small, I dreamed of worlds
of ice cream, candy canes
of fountains filled with lemonade
and sweet raspberry rain
We trade our childhood innocence
for cars and jewels and such
and thoughts of love and 'might have beens'
don't seem to mean as much
The days rush by, the seasons go
we're getting older now
and all the things we dreamed about
get pushed aside somehow
I give all my tomorrow's, if you'd
look into my eyes
and tell me if you see the love
I've tried hard to disguise
'Cause sometimes it's just easier
than living with the pain
the ups and downs, the ins and outs
we lose more than we gain
But love will keep your soul alive
and only love will do
just love someone with all your heart ...
it will return to you
I've often thought my luck's run out
leaving me alone with the pain
now I'm running with my arms spread wide
into sweet raspberry rain ...
